Life Killer: The Ignored Truth About Porn—Pay Attention!
2 of every 3 Americans reported using pornography and roughly 4 of every 5 men and 2 out of every 5 women reported viewing pornography according to Pure Desire Ministries and Barna Group Study. Wow!
THE POWER OF THE TRIPLE X
In an effort to “strike while the iron’s hot”, I felt it necessary to write a companion article of sorts to the last podcast I just released titled ‘Powerful: Did Pornography Lead To One Of The Worst Serial Killers of All Time?’. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to watch it, I would highly encourage you to do so. Some of you may be asking why would I write an article about the same topic I just did a podcast on? The main reason I guess is to keep the momentum going, especially in light of a couple of articles that came out a day after the release of the podcast. But mainly because there are certain aspects of pornography that we were unable to get to during the podcast.
To say that pornography is probably the most powerful addictive force on this planet would be a gross understatement. I know that there might be many who disagree with me, and, I respect that. However, if we take a closer look at what pornography does to the human brain, the mind, the body and the spirit, I’m sure we’d all come to the same conclusion—that it was engineered straight from the pit of hell.
At the age of around six years old, I became one of millions of young children to be sexually molested. I can recall much of what happened and how I felt. I remember the instructions I was given by the pedophile as to what and how I was to do certain things. I guess I’d have to say, as crazy as this may sound, that I was “fortunate” that my predator was a woman. Nevertheless, that incident in my life would be the catalyst that set in motion a decades old battle with lust and pornography.
The thing with pornography is that it affects the prefrontal cortex of the brain which is responsible for self-control, our behavior as well as our personality. It (pornography) also, quite literally, rewires the brain so as to crave the dopamine release over and over again—thus an addiction inhibitor. Why is that? Because dopamine is a pleasure hormone, or, the feel good hormone. It is released in the brain when exposed to a stimulant visually, physically or synthetically. Because dopamine is part of our brains reward system, it’s extremely easy to become addicted and/or to crave that feeling, sensation or pleasure upon it’s release; therefore, the brain is “rewired” and creates habitual neural pathways. Henceforth, the constant need for the addict to watch pornography so as to get the next “hit” or release of the pleasure hormone dopamine.
THE DANGER OF THE TRIPLE X
I like to refer to pornography as the “secret drug” or “silent addiction”. It’s one, especially in light of all of the enablers today, that can be kept under wraps for years and years without anyone ever finding out—except the Lord that is! You can hide it from people, from friends, from a spouse, but NOT from God! What makes this addiction more dangerous than others is the addicts canny ability to keep it hidden from others.
It used to be that if one wanted to engage in viewing or consuming pornographic material, they’d have to go buy a magazine at a liquor store, or, maybe go to a VHS rental facility and walk through the saloon looking doors to the adult only section of the store, thereby running the risk of being labeled a “perv” or getting the stink eye on the way out. It wasn’t easy and it had a “face” to it—the consumers. Yet that was never a deterrent and the industry has grown by leaps and bounds, better yet, exponentially.
However, with the advent of the computer, the internet and smart phones, all bets were off, and the consumption of pornographic material and movies became that of an ‘anonymous’ consumer. It was as if they threw jet fuel on the already burning flames of moral decadency and the inferno raged more fiercely than ever before, consuming everyone in its path. Think about it, the internet browsers of today give the end-user the ability to “wipe their net tracks” clean after consuming any kind of content to their hearts delight, or better yet—demise. All of them have what is called ‘private browsing’, every single last web browser. It allows the user once again to access any site they want and it will not keep a log or history of where they’ve been. Not only has access to pornographic—both of the softcore and hardcore nature—become readily and easily accessible for both young and old (yes, even older folks are accessing pornographic material); but the enemy has used today’s browser technology as a way to aide & facilitate the addiction by allowing the addict to hide it with no visual indications whatsoever.
Think about it. When a drug addict consumes their drug of choice, whether it be marijuana, PCP, Heroin, Fentanyl, etc., their physical body will manifest the effects the narcotic is having. Same goes for alcohol consumption; from buzz to drunk to wasted. But, for the most part, the porn addict does not manifest the effects of the addiction; therefore, the addiction remains hidden in plain sight. I’m sure most of us would be surprised (or maybe not) to find out who—men, women and married couples alike—are engaging in watching, consuming and filming pornography. Not only has their been an exponential rise in consumption, but, there’s also been a massive rise in its production. Yes, you read that right—its production.
With the advent of cellphones and their ever increasing cinema quality cameras, everyday “common” folk—including married couples—have been busy creating and producing “at home” pornographic movies of themselves, and uploading them to these porn sites/apps as a means of monetary gains. These are your everyday people: Teachers, Lawyers, Doctors, housewives, college students, blue collar workers and I’m sure that even “church going” folks engage in this perverted movie production phenomena. The moral fabric of our society is disintegrating faster than ever before.
WHAT HAPPENED TO WOMEN?

The point I’m trying to make is that the moral decay has reached levels that are unheard of. For most of history, women have been the nurturers. That’s what the Lord has gifted them with. Not all have the same nurturing qualities, but, all have been given the gift by God. One of the greatest gifts most woman looked forward to in life was that of being a mom. They are, for the most part, naturally wanting to help out. They are looking out for the well being of others. They have a “you first” mentality and therefore, by design, will put the needs of others before their own. This is why God “tasked” women with the amazing responsibility of being moms. They are giving, supportive, encouraging and most importantly, loving!
But something has happened to women. I believe that the enemy found a way to “highjack” womanhood. There’s been this cataclysmic shift in the role and thinking of women as of late. It used to be that a woman would do anything to defend children, especially their own. By and large, they had what we call modesty, though that now seems to be a thing of the past. Women (and I understand not all) have become very self-serving and self-centered. Much like the bulk of society. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at social media accounts of some of the female “influencers” (I highly disdain that term) and see for yourself if what I say isn’t true. I can say with certainty that the abortion movement and beastly industry is proof positive that the role of the woman has been highjacked. It’s about the body, the looks and the “freedom to chose”.
The woman now flaunts her body in ways that were—in times past—considered whore-ish. They don’t see pre-marital sex as a bad thing. On the contrary, they willingly give the “milk away for free” so the men need not “buy the cow”—that is, commit and get married. At the end of the day, if an “unplanned” pregnancy happens, they can always terminate it. The prevailing attitude with the younger gals seems to be that of “the more I show off my body, the better and more marketable I am”. Women are having premarital sex just as much as men are. And the scary part is that this is all happening all within the church.
Now please don’t misunderstand me, I am in no way trying to pick on women. But women are often times a barometer of a society. When women no longer possess the nurturing quality, but approve of killing their own, of sexual deviancy and perversion, it’s not a good “sign” for society as a whole.
Check out what this article from Psychology Today had to say about the issue of women and pornography from June of 2020:
“Two studies have compared gender reactions to standard porn vs. Femme videos:
• At the University of Amsterdam, Dutch scientists showed 47 women standard porn or a Femme video. The former repelled them, but the latter aroused them.
• University of Connecticut researchers showed college students (200 men and 195 women) three conventional porn videos and three from Femme. The men loved all six. Almost all the women felt repulsed by the standard porn, but enjoyed the Femme videos—and were more likely to twist the sheets after viewing them.”
Did you catch that? There’s a whole industry nested within the porn industry called Femme Porn. It’s pornography by women for women. And, if the above is any indication of where we are headed, the enemy has done a “fine” job at not only perverting manhood, but also perverting womanhood as well. The Lord was very crystal clear when He said that:
“…a man shall leave his father and mother and be[a] joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 (NKJV)
SEXUAL IMMORALITY—AKA: PORNEIA
I’m sure many of you have heard the old adage that God made Adam and Even, not Adam and Steve. But, there’s another saying that goes in line with this one and it goes like this: God created Adam and Eve, not Tracy and Stacy. You get the point, I hope. We can see the the enemy has been hard at work at perverting that which God ordered. Sex and the marriage bed is a divine creation. It is a creation of none other than God Himself. Sex is an amazing gift that God created as a means of bonding husbands and wives, as we read earlier in Genesis 2:24 as one flesh. Hebrews 13:4 spells it out as loud and clear as possible:
“Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
We MUST remember that God created sex and satan has highjacked (there’s that term again) the beauty of God’s created order of marriage and perverted it. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:18:
“Flee sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral (Or one who practices sexual immorality) man sins against his own body.”
It’s interesting that some versions of this verse just say fornication instead of sexual immorality. Either way, the word here is the Greek word ‘porneia’. Pretty self explanatory what word we get in our English language: Pornography. The definition is as follows:
Illicit Sexual Intercourse. I.e. Adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals, sexual intercourse with close relatives (Leviticus 18), etc. (Thayer’s Definition)
This is a fairly extensive list of sexual sin. Now, I find what Paul says quite telling. Paul says to flee from sexual immorality or fornication. Do what Joseph did in the face of sexual temptation with Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39)—RUN! But most people in the church don’t run. Instead, they see how close they can get to the proverbial “line” without actually crossing it. I really like the way that Dave Guzik puts it when it comes to sexual immorality. He says that:
“To flee sexual immorality means more than not having sexual intercourse with someone we are not married to. It means to flee sexual gratification short of or apart from intercourse with someone we are not married to. It means to flee sexual gratification or thrills one might find from pornographic videos, movies, magazines, books, or Internet sites…Paul isn’t saying sexual immorality is worse than any other sin, but he does teach that sexual sin has a unique effect on the body. The effect is physical, but it is also moral and spiritual.”
SPIRITUAL IMPLICATIONS

And David Guzik is 100% right. There’s a spiritual connection that is often times missed or willingly ignored about pornography, and that is the spiritual aspect of it. When we entertain pornography, we MUST remember that we are also entertaining demonic spirits. By engaging in the viewing of pornography, there is a door that is opened to the demonic realm that can and will unleash hell in one’s life—which can manifest in many different ways. Sexual immorality is a gateway—one that you don’t want to open or mess around with.
If you haven’t already done so, I would highly encourage you to watch/listen to the last podcast I did about pornography. In it, my guests and I cover the final interview of serial killer Ted Bundy, where he talks about the influence that pornography had in his life and how it played a key role in the gruesome crimes he committed. In one part of the interview, Dr. Dobson asks Bundy if he can take us back to what it was that made him cross that line and act on his unbridled lust. Bundy recounts that he felt as if a darkness took over him, wherein he was not in control of himself only to wake up the next morning back to his “normal” self and realize what he’d done. That darkness was demonic possession. The opening of doors via sexual immorality. In this case, the incessant viewing of porn—from softcore to hardcore.
Let the reader recall that with the consumption of pornography there is a release of vast amounts of the hormone dopamine which is accompanied by a euphoric feeling. Thus, the brain is rewired to want more and more—habit forming. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41). If you think for one minute that this problem is only relegated to the secular world, you’d be grossly mistaken. Look at this article from September 24th, 2024 titled: ‘Americans, Christians increasingly viewing porn, study says’. The article goes on to say that:
“Pornography use in the United States is a growing problem, Pure Desire Ministries Executive Director Nick Stumbo said on Tuesday. People across all genders, social classes, and religious groups are struggling with pornography, Stumbo added. Pure Desire Ministries and the Barna Group on Tuesday released a study surveying nearly 3,000 U.S. adults—many of them practicing Christians—about pornography use.
The Barna Group last studied pornography use eight years ago, according to CEO David Kinnaman. Since then, pornography use has grown greatly.”
I hope this is starting to sink in! The proliferation of sexual immorality has grown exponentially. I truly believe that the surveys on the topic of pornography are not a true reflection of the actual numbers. Why? Though it is become widely “accepted” as “normal” by the mainstream, admitting the consumption of porn comes with an enormous stigma most don’t care to “own up to”, especially within the church. Thus, inaccurate numbers.
KIDS AND HORROR FILMS
With all that said, you’d be surprised how satan, via our society, is now targeting kids with a flood of pornographic materials. Earlier on, I talked about how women were (I use that term purposefully) the main nurturers in society. But, there’s been a cataclysmic shift in that women (alongside many men) are now okay with—and often times at the helm of indoctrinating and grooming children into a lifestyle of not only addiction and promiscuity, but that of perversion and sexual immorality. School libraries all across our nation, ALL 50 states are pushing sexually explicit, morally corrupt and perverted pornographic books to kids from elementary school to high school levels. I would highly encourage you to check out the work that Karen England is doing with Capital Resource Group, she’s fantastic.
Here’s a quick excerpt from an email I received from her and Capitol Resource warning parents of the grooming taking place of children via pornographic and sexually explicit books being peddled by the American Library Association and the Public School system.
“One of the largest book publishers in the world, Penguin Random House, has made the decision that your children should have access to pornography.
The goliath has partnered with smaller organizations like Unite Against Book Bans, Little Free Library, and First Book to sponsor #TheBannedWagon.
This wagon doesn’t tempt children with candy and puppies. Instead it gives out free copies of inappropriate books and convinces kids that in order to remain free, they should read filth, violence, and gender ideology.”
We can’t help but wonder how many copies of The Bluest Eye will be given out on this tour. Just an excerpt of what Penguin Random House believes is appropriate for kids.
"The little girls are the only things I’ll miss. Do you know that when I touched their sturdy little tits and bit them - just a little - I felt I was being friendly?…They didn’t mind at all. Not at all. Remember how so many of them came back? No one would even try to understand that. If I’d been hurting them, would they have come back? Two of them, Doreen and Sugar Babe, they’d come together. I gave them mints, money, and they’d eat ice cream with their legs open while I played with them. It was like a party.”
Folks, this is a very, very serious and egregious problem!
Add to the mix the societal intoxication with horror and evil. They used to call them ‘slasher’ films. The likes of ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’, ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, are now considered Childs play. The bar for evil and macabre has been raised considerably and it is a direct reflection of where societies heart is. But, mingled in all these films are three things that are inseparable:
Sex and nudity
Violence and Gore
Drugs and Alcohol
I’ll be talking more about the exponential uptick in our society’s fixation with the demonic and evil in another article. Suffice it to say that pornography and sexual immorality go hand in glove and those that continue to engage and dabble in it, run the risk of losing everything, and I mean everything!
The church is literally playing with fire, and in light of the fact that many in the church, both men and women alike, are partaking of and consuming pornographic material, should be a ‘super-sign’ that we are on the cusp of the Lord’s return. Satan has managed to capture the hearts and minds of those not only in the world, but more importantly in church by enticing them with the fulfillment of the flesh via pornography and sadly the church has taken the bait—to its detriment.
Let me encourage each of us by quoting lyrics from a song by classic Christian band DC Talk titled ‘I Don’t Want It’:
“1-900-L-O-V-E
S-E-X is on the TV
Too much skin is in your vision
You gotta make the right decision
God has set His standard higher
Purity is His desire”
WHAT’S THE SOLUTION?
So, what’s the answer or solution to all of this? Simple—God! There is no other way to be delivered or kept clean from the jaws of pornography than to trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask for His forgiveness, seek Him daily by getting into His Word and coming to Him in prayer—as well as being open to true accountability.
Oh yeah! After all of these things will you be able to exercise the one thing that will keep you from porn—will power. Again, let me quote from a DC Talk song titled ‘Will Power’. It’s a very short, infomercial style ditty that goes like this:
“Will power!
Will power!
Will power!
The power to will away temptation!”
Let me remind each and everyone of us what’s at stake here: Your life, your family, and most importantly, your eternity (if you don’t know Jesus!).
Remember that porn kills and destroys, but, Jesus Saves!
😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻

It's an addiction that is as strong as hard drugs. When coupled with hard drugs it's an addiction that becomes all but impossible to overcome. Only with the help of Christ can o e overcome something so powerful. Thank you Jesus
Thank you for having the courage to share your story. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Thank you also for writing this article addressing such a sensitive, yet vitally important, topic. The fact that porn is so prevalent in our society coupled with the fact that it’s increasingly being pushed on our youth is spiritually devastating. I plan on saving this article to share with others. Again, thank you so much for this article!
