BE VIGILANT: Lessons From The Book Of Judges-PT2
In this ongoing look at the book of Judges, we will continue to see the theme that spiritual decline is but one generation away. As we saw in the previous study, the act of transferring our spiritual heritage to our children (Deut. 6:6-9; Prov. 22:6) was completely neglected. In so doing, it set up the following generation for failure.
There’s something to be said about teaching our children of God’s redemption, love, mercy, grace, compassion and holiness. We MUST teach our children…this next generation to fear the Lord! Without holy reverence (fear) for the Lord there cannot be wisdom (Prov. 9:10), and without wisdom there is foolishness.
As I said in part 1, that failure to obey undoubtedly leads to consequences, and the book of Judges is a perfect illustration of just that. We will continue to take a look at the book of Judges and see what the Lord has in store for us to learn.
