From Wolfenstein to Charlie Kirk: A Look at a Godless Generation
“There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.” – Vladimir Lenin
Through those words, Lenin truly managed to capture the idea or concept that we can go long periods of time when events might seem uneventful; however, the converse is true as well, and that is that we experience single events whose significance changes the course of history and thereby feel as if decades have transpired. Yes, it is ironic that I quoted a staunch communist as a means to illustrate the fact that what happened on 09.10.25 was one of those said events. What we witnessed Wednesday, September 10th was in fact a “decade” (and beyond) in the making.
I wanted to wait for the proverbial dust to somewhat settle regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Jumping in as just another voice in the echo chamber didn’t seem right. What I’ve noticed isn’t what most would consider obvious. To be quite honest, I haven’t heard anyone—other than my dear brother Rohn—mention what I’m about to address.
It’s now been one week since that horrific day. I’ve heard a lot of commentary. Unfortunately, what I’ve gathered is that we’re living in two “parallel realities”.
One reality wants nothing to do with anything remotely resembling biblical morality, law, or order. It’s a “reality” where the individual is god, and no one is going to tell them that what they’re engaging in—or actively pursuing—is wrong, immoral, or godless. Let alone correcting their mostly poisonus asps of violent hate and rhetoric.
The other “reality” seeks nationalism over globalism. It’s a space where talk about God, biblical morality, law, and order is still very much accepted and pursued…though not by all here. It’s a place where free speech still exists and life still has value. Yet even here, not all that glimmers is gold and I know we have “bad actors” here as well.
But who are the people that live in each reality? Are they mostly young adults? High School students? Who are those in each camp fighting tirelessly for their version of America to come out on top?
Simply put, they are the professionals of the day—the lawyers, the educators (from elementary classrooms to the halls of higher learning), the doctors, engineers, authors, journalists, teachers of religion, scientist, the politicians who “serve” their constituents—from the local level all the way up to the highest offices in government. They are the men and women that make up our armed forces, moms, dads, blue collar workers, actors, creators, influencers (though I truly detest that word), students—both young and old, they are the faces of everyday life.
We are a divided nation!
The fight—or better yet, war—is real. But what we’ve been witnessing isn’t a malady that heals with time.
No, this malady will continue. It will continue to fester. And in due time, it will give way to a putrid abscess that eventually infects the many—in a reality yet to come—one the Bible calls Daniels 70th week or the Tribulation Period.
Let me briefly share how the underlying currents of societies loveless posturing is leading to a world wrought with humanism, immorality, godlessness and a deadening of our collective conscience toward the reverence and sanctity of life. The clamoring from both sides demands change—each equally voicing their calls for reform. On one side, the attitude is celebratory. On the other, it’s logically incensed. Both are determined.
But what are they calling for? Or better yet—who are they calling for?
How did our culture lose its zeal, love, and respect for life—that which is given (and taken) by God alone? Many young adults have become calloused to violence, gore, murder, immorality and sexual perversion. Euthanasia is a growing trend around governments of the world. How did this happen? And what, in the end, will this societal desensitization lead to?
MR. FIX-IT-ALL!
Let’s begin by looking at everything happening around the world—everything that screams instability, uncertainty, anxiety, and fear.
First off, the Middle East is a powder keg. I’m sure you’d agree. The constant proliferation and exportation of terror throughout the region is off the charts. If it’s not Iran’s incessant desire to annihilate Israel (the “little Satan”) off the face of the earth, then it’s the never-ending funding of terror through proxy states, or the endless conflict in the Gaza territory.
There are rumors of a possible revolution in Iran…though that remains to be seen. Or the new “flavor” of terror that has filled the void left by Assad’s regime in Syria—which is now heavily persecuting and butchering Christians. And what about the Houthis, trying to get their pound of Israeli “flesh”? And that’s just a sliver of the problems and catastrophes facing the Middle East.
What about Russia and Ukraine? Unfortunately, not only has Trump’s plan to bring peace to the region not worked—it’s escalating in ways most of us (except the neocons) were hoping wouldn’t happen. Putin seems to be on a new high. The Bear is wide awake and hungry. It’s been in hibernation far too long—and now it’s looking to feast.
Who poked the Bear? Sadly, we did. The United States of America, under the sleepy “watch” of the Biden Administration. Russia has now flown drones over Poland—which were shot down by NATO F-16s—and over Romanian airspace as well.
And to top it all off, Russia and Belarus are playing nuclear war games by rehearsing the launch of Russian tactical nuclear weapons. Belarus not only an extension of Russia, but also the last openly communist country in Europe. But hey, just because the Iron Curtain fell in 1989 doesn’t mean the players have changed their ideologies, right?
Think about it: China possibly invading Taiwan. India now becoming a firm supporter of both China and Russia. According to Blaze Media, in an article titled Xi, Putin, and Modi Join Forces to Reject West’s Fading World Order, it states:
“At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, the leaders of China, Russia, and India presented a united front against a West that still thinks it sets the rules, even as its economic power wanes.”
And here at home? There’s a growing sense of less personal safety and security, not more. The recent murder of Iryna Zarutska on a train in North Carolina by a deranged, 14-time violent serial criminal offender. The deaths of three officers—and two others critically injured—in York County, Pennsylvania, at the hands of another demonic man. And just to name one more: the 23-year-old mass-shooting-obsessed man who opened fire at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on August 27, 2025. He killed two children and injured 18 others.
Trust me, I could go on, and on. But I think you get the point. Not only do we have issues—we have serious issues! And they’re not going away anytime soon. If anything, they’re going to get progressively—and exponentially—worse. If you don’t believe me, I’d encourage you to do a deep dive on the book of Revelation.
And this is where I believe the world is quickly headed: toward a growing longing for someone to step onto the world stage and fix it all! The desire, expectation—and once again, longing—for that man is already well settled in the hearts and minds of most people across the globe.
The world, for the most part, is fed up. People are tired, weary, and just plain old worn out. They want it all to end. And most no longer care who ends it.
In 1957, former Belgian Prime Minister—and architect of the E.U.—Henri Spaak gave a fervent speech about the slow pace of Europe’s economic recovery following World War II. His words then perfectly reflect today’s global sentiment. They echo the cry and mindset so prevalent in our time. These were his words:
“We do not want another committee; we have too many already. What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people, and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man—and be he god or devil, we will receive him.”
We are rapidly forging our way toward the inevitable. The welcoming of the man of lawlessness.
One thing Charlie Kirk’s assassination has managed to do is reveal just how willing people are to accept this “savior”—someone capable of bridging the gap between left and right, up and down, liberal and “conservative”.
Now more than ever, the events of 09.10.25 have amplified that clarion call for a man of “sufficient stature” to step onto the scene and fix all the world’s woes.
That man is coming sooner than most realize.
That man is none other than the final Antichrist himself!
IT’S NOT ALL FUN AND VIDEO GAMES
The next issue we need to scrutinize and address is society’s severing from its once-deep respect for human life. I’ve got a couple of thoughts on this—and I’d like to share them with you.
Back in 1992, I remember a game hitting the market called Wolfenstein 3D (image above). It was the first of its kind—the beginning of what would become a long line of what we now call FPS games, or First-Person Shooters. This marked the dawn of the modern-day FPS era. Wolfenstein 3D wasn’t the first game to use FPP (First-Person Perspective). I was born in 1977, so this goes a bit before my time, but some of you might—big might—remember a game from 1973 called Maze War.
It’s considered the first to use FPP, though it was extremely primitive and not widely known outside early computing circles.
Then in 1980 (definitely my time), Atari released a game called Battlezone—a first-person tank combat arcade game. While not a “shooter” in the modern FPS sense, Battlezone was a major step forward in immersive gameplay and visual perspective.
Side note—how many of you remember arcades? Those were my days! Back when video games were just $.25 cents a play. I have to admit, though, I was rarely—and I mean Haley’s Comet rarely—allowed to step foot in one. My dad used to say video games would “rot my brain.” Funny thing is, looking back hindsight 20/20, those words sound almost prophetic as I look at the current landscape of our youth in the advent—or better yet, the fallout—of FPS games.
Let me insert a quick thought: Satan is the master deceiver. He’s the ultimate manipulator and knows exactly how to desensitize the masses—whether in whole or in part—as a means to achieve his goals. And FPS (First-Person Shooter) games have been one of the many weapons in his arsenal—no pun intended.
Back to Wolfenstein 3D. It was cutting-edge and definitely immersive—like I said, the first of its kind. Now, pair that with the constant exposure kids already had to blood, guts, gore, violence, and horror films, and you’ve got a “perfect” cocktail for disaster.
Let me break down the game’s premise and the player’s ultimate objective. You play as B.J. Blazkowicz, an Allied spy fighting to escape a Nazi stronghold. Sounds noble enough, right? Your goals? To navigate maze-like levels, kill Nazi soldiers (sound familiar?), attack dogs, and various other enemies. Along the way, you collect weapons, ammo, health packs, and treasure. Eventually, you’re tasked with assassinating key Nazi leaders—including one wearing a robot suit: Hitler himself.
I think you know where I’m going with this…
As the infamous late-night infomercials used to say: “But wait—there’s more!”
In 1993, just one year after the “birth” of the modern-day FPS with Wolfenstein 3D, another game hit the market from the same company—DOOM. Now this was what I would call a true game changer (again, no pun intended). This is where the FPS genre really exploded. DOOM introduced networked (via internet) multiplayer deathmatches, more complex maps, and a brutally visceral experience that would go on to define First-Person Shooters for decades to come. It became an instant hit—and also one of the most controversial video games of its time due to its graphic and disturbing content.
Let me quickly give you the premise of this 32-bit video game. You play as a nameless “space marine” stationed on Mars, fighting your way through a full-on demonic invasion from Hell. Your mission? Survive wave after wave of demons and undead, navigate increasingly complex and hellish levels, and use a growing arsenal of weapons—including the now-infamous chainsaw and BFG (Big F***ing Gun)—to fight back. Eventually, you descend into Hell itself to try and stop the invasion at its source.
In less than a year, ID Software had created a game far darker and more overtly demonic than its predecessor, Wolfenstein 3D. And while the plot remained simple, DOOM was exponentially more intense—with explicit occult symbolism, graphic violence, and a spiritual tone that could not be ignored. And all of this was gulped up by kids and adults alike.
Yet in all this madness, aside from a handful of religious groups voicing concern, most parents, educators, politicians, and even pastors stayed quiet. Wolfenstein was about escaping and conquering evil—DOOM was about descending right into Hell itself. But either way, Pandora’s box was open. Not only was there very little objection to the material—in the end, it was wholly embraced. The genre became a multi-billion-dollar industry and a staple in gaming world.
By the late 1990s, games like Quake (1996), GoldenEye 007 (1997), Grand Theft Auto (1997) and Half-Life (1998) had pushed FPS games into the mainstream. Then came the 2000s, with juggernauts like Call of Duty, Halo and upgraded versions of Grand Theft Auto. FPS games kept pushing the boundries of what was acceptable in socieites eyes and games beyond shooting such as Grand Theft Auto glorified a world driven by violence, greed, and moral decay, where crime was rewarded and human life was disposable. GTA continues to promote a valueless view of life, mocking virtue, faith, and authority while normalizing sexual exploitation, substance abuse, and institutional corruption.
Beneath its satire, the game reflects—and fuels—a culture increasingly desensitized to evil and disconnected from God.
And guess what? They sell like hot cakes. Can you see how far down the rabbit hole we’ve gone?
First-person shooter games have, over time, not only desensitized an entire generation to bloodshed and violence—they’ve glorified it. What once might have shocked the conscience or caused discomfort in younger audiences has now become normalized through repetitive, immersive gameplay that rewards aggression and body count. And beyond normalization, it’s become full-on, “acceptable” entertainment.
These games train the mind to respond to graphic violence with amusement—or worse, indifference—rather than moral hesitation. The more graphic, the more celebrated. And what happens over time is this: the boundary between virtual killing, real-life killing, and empathy begins to erode. The God-given line between what’s virtual and what’s real has all but disappeared. And with it, the value, meaning, and sanctity of human life has quickly faded from view.
Our culture has become saturated with ultra-violent content, moral perversion, death, the occult, pornography, drug use and so much more. The value of human life has diminished to critical levels. So, it’s no surprise that we are now witnessing acts of violence and murder like never before. The assassination of Charlie Kirk is—I believe—a mere reflection, a symptom of a far greater malady: the metastasis of unbridled sin and rejection of Jesus Christ as savior.
Romans 1:28-32 offers a chilling description of what a Christ-rejecting world that embraces unbridled sin looks like:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness (greed), maliciousness (malice); full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning (zero understanding), untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”
Sounds an awful lot like what we’re witnessing today.
CELEBRATE? GIFTS FORTHCOMING!
Finally, I want to quickly address the sickening celebration from so many in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s heinous and needless assassination. I will admit—I was disgusted and angry to see such callousness, hate, insensitivity, and plain evil pouring out, not only from the general public but from people across every walk of life.
What does that tell us? What else could it point to but a God-less culture? What you and I are witnessing—right now—is a deep posturing and desensitization to life that will only grow worse as time marches on. This is prophetic.
Take a moment and look with me at Revelation 11:3-10. The Lord will empower His two witnesses to prophesy and be His bold witnesses in Israel for the first 3.5 years. These men will proclaim Christ’s truths wherever they go, unafraid and on fire for the Gospel! If people don’t want to hear about Jesus, salvation, sin, heaven, and hell—well, they’re in for a rude awakening. Coincidentally, if anyone tries to harm them, the Lord will give these witnesses the power to breathe fire from their mouths to devour their enemies. Imagine a situation wherein someone tries assassinating or silencing them—not only will the attempt fail, these men have the power to open their mouths, breath fire over their enemies and their attackers end up crispy well done!
But when their time is up—when they’ve finished their work for the Lord—God will allow the final Anti-Christ to make war against them, overpower them, and kill them. These two witnesses will have been so effective in their ministry, their message so convicting, and most people so calloused, that their dead bodies will be put on display for the whole world to see. Even worse, people will celebrate their deaths! They’ll be so glad these two “haters” are dead that they will rejoice over their deaths, celebrate it, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented—by speaking truth they didn’t want to hear—to those who dwell on the earth.
Imagine that—celebration over the death of those whom people simply disagree with. Sound familiar? Exactly the attitude and posturing we’re witnessing by many since Wednesday, September 10th, 2025.
Let me close with this: what the enemy means for evil, God will take and turn for His glory. Period!
What September 10th, 2025 has revealed is a world and culture that’s passing away right before our eyes—one that is openly hostile to the truth. The darkness is closing in fast, and Satan is on a rampage because he knows his time is short. But I know this for certain: through this tragedy, many will come to Jesus—guaranteed! Charlie Kirk is now in the presence of Almighty God. He’s finished his race—but we’re still running ours.
So, in light of the fact that tomorrow is not promised to any of us—as clearly seen in Charlie’s “graduation” from this life—let’s take every opportunity the Lord gives us, and make the most of it.
Will you join me in share a living, risen Lord with a dark and dying world!?!
😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻

Great article! Stay the course, my friend. You're on the right track.
Thank you for an excellent look into the end of the Church Age, and the beginnings of the “ Age of Judgement” Tribulation. We are the generation to see these signs unfold. I’m both sad and excited; sad to see Satan’s hold intensify on earth, but excited by the fact that we may never “sleep” but be caught up in the air to be with our Lord forevermore.
